Success Story: Roof Potential Mapping using Modelling

Introduction: Space4Good uses remote sensing to monitor social and environmental impact

The Challenge: Space4Good wanted to use Satellite data and information to come up with a model to map roofs in Rotterdam in 16 different categories of usage.

Our Solution: We mapped and classified all the roofs in Rotterdam using Optical Satellite Imagery and used data fusion methods to create a map. We collaborated with Space4Good to come up with a model for segmentation of roofs.

Impact: Lot of potential uses of the roofs were mapped in the city of Rotterdam, giving a comprehensive overview of how roofs can be used in the future.
